The bread lame is an essential tool for sourdough bread baking. This tool is used by professional and amateur bakers alike to hold a razor blade, which slashes the top of your sourdough bread to create intricate decorative designs that reveal themselves as the loaf bakes. The lame makes the blade easy to manipulate which protecting your hands from the sharp edges, and the best bakers all use a shorter lame held in the palm top afford greater control over the blade.

About Nonna’s Woodshop – Vancouver chef Dan Ewart became pasta obsessed while working at Savio Volpe – an Italian spot in Van, and easily one of Canada’s best restaurants. The obsession took over his workshop in Coquitlam, and he started making traditional pasta gear from sustainably sourced woods. The cloth satchels are made by his mom.
